Youth Red Cross organized “First Aid Awareness Programme” which was held in Keerthi Hall on 07th February 2020 at 1.30 p.m. Dr.R.Rajeswari, Principal of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women presided over the function. Ms.S.Janishka of I B.Sc Chemistry welcomed the gathering. Ms. M.Sowndharya of I B.A. English introduced the Chief Guest. The Guest Speaker Dr. K.S.Loganathan, District Organizer, Youth Red Cross, Namakkal and Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Economics, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram, Namakkal suggested that the student community should have the knowledge about lifesaving skills along with core curriculum. He talked about the symptoms and first aid treatment for certain illness like fatigue, fits, heart attack, cardiac arrest and reptiles bite especially snake. He explained how to apply cardiopulmonary resuscitation method to an unconscious person and also stated that providing Aspirin tablet for Heart attack person will give temporary relief to the concerned. In addition to that he created awareness on Novel Corona Virus and its symptoms which is the present threat to people and also emphasized the importance of washing hands. He concluded his noteworthy speech by asking the students to be selfless, fellow feeling and good humankind. The programme came to an end with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. P.Sowmiya of I B.A. English.
