On 08.03.2024, a motivational speech on “தாயும் நீ… தலைவியும் நீ…” was conducted in Anantha Arangam at 10.00 a.m. on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The programme commenced with the prayer song and Tamilthai Vazhthu by students followed by lighting the Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries. S. Amrita of I B.Sc. C.S. welcomed the gathering.
Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, the Chairman of Paavai Institutions honored the Guest Speaker with shawl and memento and presided over the function. Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions, lit the lamp and felicitated the gathering.
The Guest speaker, Poet Dr. Ilambirai in her special address said that all the students of Paavai have great qualities like humility, peace, mental strength and robustness which they have acquired through Women Empowerment programmes. She also said that evil acts are spreading like poison in the society and such programmes will be a crutch in students’ future during their testing times. She reverberated that in the early days the society was matrilineal and also it is not uncommon for women to progress since social reformers like Mahakavi Subramania Bharathiar, Periyar, etc. created awareness among the people about women’s freedom and rights earlier. She continued that the platform and progress seen today is all due to the struggle and progress of many women. She then stated that students should study and improve their thinking, strength, language, management and all their skills through proper training and create achievements, for which they need to spend more time. She further said that youth have to use 365 opportunities creatively found in 365 days and give importance to inner beauty, do good deeds and always be helpful to others. She insisted that women must bow travel like a river and rise up with peace, fighting spirit, standing firmly in the ideal, to make a difference in society as a whole. She then wished the students to be the innovative women that Bharathi saw and become role models for others.
The programme came to an end with the Vote of Thanks delivered by V. Kokila of I B.Sc. C.S followed by the National Anthem.
