On 24.11.2022, “Voters Awareness Programme” was conducted by Election Commission, Namakkal in Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, in Keerthi Hall at 11.00 am for students who have completed their 18 years. The programme commenced with prayer song and Tamilthai Vazhthu by our students. Ms. J.Soundharya II M.A English welcomed the gathering. Dr.J.Thavamani, Principal honoured the Guest Mrs.M.Selvi, Deputy Collector & Assistant Commissioner (Excise), Namakkal with Shawl.
The guest in her speech stated that every Indian citizen has the voting rights and hence Girls who have completed 18 years of age has to apply for voter ID within the stipulated period. She added that Voting helps to incarnate the development of our Nation. She also specified “one man one vote”. She insisted the students to enroll in NVSP (National Voter’s Service Portal) online portal to get the voter ID. She made the students to understand the responsibility of every Indian citizen to do their duty by voting. She gave awareness to the students that it is mandatory to add their Aadhar number with their Voter ID and she taught them about the procedure to be followed for applying through online. She concluded her speech by insisting the students to spread the awareness of voting among their family, friends and neighbors.
Mrs. Ambika, Inspector (Prohibition and Enforcement), Namakkal in her Speech stated that drug culture among the students should be completely eradicated. She also said that drugs are available in the forms of chocolates, stamps, etc., and so students should be conscious of those abandoned supplies and spread the awareness to the society.
The Program came to an end with vote of thanks delivered by Ms. S. Kavya of I. BA English followed by National Anthem. Mr.Karthikeyan, Revenue Inspector, Rasipuram, Mr.P.Rajkumar, Revenue Inspector, Namakkal, Mr. Srinivasan, Election Tasildar, Rasipuram, Mrs. R.Rukmani Division Excise Officer, Mrs.Rajalakshmi, VAO Anaipalayam, Heads of Various departments and the staff members of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women graced the occasion by their presence.
