The English Literary Association conducted three activities “Game of Idioms and Phrases”, “Connect Characters” and “Riddles from Literature” in Keerthi Hall on 02.02.2024. It was conducted by Students of UG English. A.P. Manjanavadivu welcomed the gathering. In this activity students from various departments assembled in Keerthi Hall and they engaged themselves by finding the meanings of Idioms and Phrases. Then the students were divided into two teams. They connected pictures shown on screen and found the name of the characters. Next in the activity “Riddles from Literature”, the riddles were taken from various works of literature such as Sophocle’s Oedipus Rex, The Bible, James Joyce’s Ulysses, Jane Austen’s Emma, William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice and so on. Students enjoyed the whole session and they rocked the hall with their vigorous performance. The students who gave correct answers were appreciated by Head of the Department. Chocolates were distributed to the students as token of appreciation. P. Swetha from II B.A English proposed the vote of thanks.
