The Department of Computer Science at Pavai Arts and Science College for Women hosted a webinar titled “Current Trends in IT” on January 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Keerthi Hall, conducted virtually via Google Meet.
The program commenced with a prayer song, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by B. Afrin Nisha, a III B.Sc Computer Science student. The guest speaker, Mrs. Selvi Selvakumar, Wintel Administrator at Wipro Technologies, Bengaluru, was introduced by L. Junaid Ashma, a III BCA student.
Mrs. Selvakumar provided a comprehensive insight into the current IT landscape, emphasizing the transformative impact of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Blockchain, IoT, and Robotics on the global industry.
The session included industry-specific examples, illustrating the practical applications of these technologies. Through engaging discussions and an interactive Q&A session, students gained valuable insights into the latest IT advancements and their potential career implications, making the webinar both informative and inspiring.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by V. Sri Keerthi, a II B.Sc CS IT student, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
