Department of Chemistry conducted a Seminar on the title Recent Advancement in Nanotechnology on 22nd March 2024. Ms. R.Nabitha of II B.Sc Chemistry welcomed the gathering.
Ms.S.Harshini of III B.Sc. Chemistry introduced the Guest Speaker. The guest speaker was Dr. M.Arockia Doss, Associate Professor, St. Joseph University, Nagaland. In his lecture, he gave brief introduction of nanomaterial, its types and properties. He also explained the humanities top ten problems for next fifty years. He discussed why nanostructures are interesting and he explained about the best global universities for nanotechnology. He taught about the impact of nanotechnology in cancer detection, cardiac regeneration, photo thermal carbon dioxide hydrogenation, world of industries, environment, and conversion of carbon dioxide to fuels. He also explained the use of nanotechnology in drug delivery, food, beverages and personal care products. Students gained knowledge about enabling technology with great implications of society and its future scope and impact in industrial fields. Students ardently listened and had some interaction with the expert.
