A Symposium on the topic, ‘Emerging Trends in Marketing’ was conducted by the Department of Commerce of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women on 27.09.2019 in Keerthi Hall at 11.00 a.m. Around 55 students from various colleges and UG and PG students of Pavai attended the symposium. The Inaugural session of the programme started with the prayer song by the students. The dignitaries along with the Guest Speaker lighted the Kuthuvilakku. Ms.K.Gowri of II B.Com. welcomed the gathering. Dr.R.Rajeswari, Principal, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, presided over the function and in her Presidential Address she stated that Marketing has become a part of life and people started producing more units as the evolution of marketing has improved in past three decades. She also stated that the Era of Barter system has changed to the Era of Relationship Management. Ms.R.Anusha of I B.Com CA introduced the Guest Speaker Dr.P.Uma Swarupa, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Salem Sowdeswari College, Salem. The Guest speaker in her special address explained the Generations X, Y, Z and the upcoming Generation Alpha. As the world has turned to digital, producers make use of technical gadgets to market their products. She also motivated the students to focus on their studies not to lend their ears to criticism and wait for the result with patience. She concluded her speech insisting the students to believe in themselves, follow their dream and achieve success. Soon after the special address, Paper presentation session was held in which students presented their papers. In the afternoon, events such as Brain Buzz, Logo Lark, Best Manager and Adzap were conducted. Arasu Arts and Science College, Karur got the overall championship. Salem Sowdeswari College got second place and Pavai Arts and Science College, Anaipalayam got third place. In the valedictory function, Correspondent madam in her felicitation address encouraged the students to participate in various symposiums to enhance their knowledge and rule the world through their knowledge. Students came out with their words of feedback about the symposium and thanked the management for conducting such a grand event. Chairman Sir in his special address, stated that the students have upgraded their ability through this symposium. He also assured to conduct National level symposium in which students can upturn their knowledge to different level. Chairman Sir and Correspondent madam distributed the certificates and trophies to the winners and the participants. Ms.S.Prathipa of I B.B.A. proposed the Vote of Thanks and the symposium came to an end with National Anthem.
