On 5th January 2024, a special address on “தோள் கொடுப்போம் தொழில் முனைந்திட” was conducted in Pragathi Hall at 2.00 p.m. The programme commenced with the prayer song and Tamilthai Vazhthu by students followed by lighting the Kuthu vilakku by the dignitaries. Ms.C.A.Preethika of III B.Com.C.A welcomed the gathering.
Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, the Chairman and Smt.Mangai Natarajan, the Correspondent of Paavai Institutions honoured the chief guest with shawl and memento. Chairman Sir in his presidential address stated that Paavai organizes Women Empowerment Series to empower womenfolk and provide them with authority, leadership quality and make them realize their duty and responsibility.
Ms. A. Vedhavarshini of III B.A. English introduced the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest, Mrs.Vijaya Mahadevan, proprietrix of Vaseegrah Veda from Thanjavur, said in her special address that only when women grow, the family, society, and nation will progress, and hence women should make themselves personable and intelligent. She stated that women should create an identity for their dream business to become entrepreneurs. She further said that they should work hard, ignore the negative comments and obstacles, and move forward towards their goal. She also suggested that budding entrepreneurs travel tirelessly on the path of career development, share their professional experiences with others, and succeed even if it is a small beginning. She then pointed out that women will become self-sufficient and rise in society when they encourage and support fellow entrepreneurs to grow. She then cited herself as an example of how to overcome the hurdles and obstacles with self-confidence. She encouraged the students to plan, act with determination, and grow as entrepreneurs with the support of their family, educational institutions and the government. She concluded her speech by wishing the enthusiastic and energetic students of Paavai to become great entrepreneurs. Later, Mrs. Vijaya Mahadevan participated in the discussion with the students.
The programme came to an end with the Vote of Thanks delivered by B.Janani of III B.Com followed by the National Anthem.
Dean-Counselling, Dean-Academics, Heads of various departments and the staff members of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women graced the occasion by their presence.
