From 10.02.2020 to 12.02.2020 the Department of Geology organized a special lecture to the students of Geology on various topics such as “Geomorphology”, “Structural Geology” and “Field Geology”. Dr.R.Soundhar Rajan, Assistant Professor, National College, Trichy delivered his special lecture on “Geomorphology” on 10.02.2020. He clearly detailed the geomorphic process on earth the methods to fix the land deformed by various factors like erosion, deposition of winds, rivers, glaciers, groundwater and waves. On 11.02.2020, he explained different structures of rocks such as Fold, Fault, Joint, Lineation, and Foliation under the topic “Structural Geology”. On 12.02.2020, he detailed the students how to survey various fields on earth and how to rectify the structural problems in contour maps through his session “Field Geology”. The students found the sessions more useful and clarified their doubts regarding the topics with utmost enthusiasm.
