On account of 76th Independence Day celebration, English Literary Association conducted Haiku and Poem composition competition on 14.08.2023. The programme commenced with the invocation of the Prayer song. M.Soundarya of II M.A English welcomed the gathering. The students were given different titles such as ‘The Ultimate Sacrifice‘ and ‘Land of Liberty‘ for Haiku and ‘Liberty is taken not given’ and ‘Pride in our heart and memories in our souls’ for Poetry composition.
The students from all the departments participated in the competition. Ms.S.Dhanushiya of III BA English got the first prize, Ms.M.V.Mekavarshini of II MA English got the second prize and Ms.S.Kavya of II MA English got third prize in Haiku composition. Ms.A.P.Manjanavadivu of II BA English got first prize, Ms.S.Dhanushiya of III BA English got second prize and Ms.A.Asmitha of I B.Sc Computer Science got third prize in Poetry composition. The participants were appreciated by Mrs.N.Kalaiarasi, HoD, Department of English for their mind blowing words. The vote of Thanks was proposed by C.Priya of III B.A English which followed by the National Anthem.
The activity was headed by Dr.J.Thavamani, Principal, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women.
