On account of the World Book Day, English Language Day and William Shakespeare’s birthday, English Literary Association conducted an activity “Lit. Link” at 3.00 pm in Keerthi Hall on 23.04.2022. The Programme commenced with the prayer song as an invocation to God. Ms.S.Santhiya, B.A.English welcomed the gathering.
Dr.J.Thavamani, Principal felicitated the gathering. Ms.C.F.Reshma of III B.A. English gave a short and sharp speech on The World Book Day and the students took an oath to read books regularly and speak only in English on the campus. Videos focusing on the importance of reading books were presented followed by the activity “Lit. Link”. The participants were from all the years of UG and PG. They were divided into four teams each containing four members. The four teams were named as Glowing Stars, Groot Squad, Cosmo Clans and Dazzling Literati. Mrs.M.Banupriya and Mrs.C.Shalini, Assistant Professors of English, introduced the team members and explained the rules for the competition. The event consisted of the sections named ‘Connection’, ‘Books and Authors’ and ‘Quotes’. The winner of the event was the team “Glowing Stars”.
The Principal admired the participants for their fervor and gusto in answering the questions. She also appreciated the winners and encouraged the students to take part in the forthcoming events. She exclusively appreciated the Head of the Department, the organizers and the staff members for putting efforts to make the event very informative, useful and successful.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms.S.Harini of II B.A.English. The programme came to an end with the National Anthem.
