UG Seminar on the topic “Dynamical Systems and Differential Equation” was conducted by the Department of Mathematics of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women on 22.09.2017 in Keerthi Hall. All UG students of the department of Mathematics attended the Seminar. The Inaugural session of the programme started with the prayer song by the students. Ms. M.Reeka of II B.Sc. Mathematics welcomed the gathering. Our Correspondent in her Felicitation Address, stated the importance of mathematics in human life. She asked the students to learn the subject with enjoyment and enthusiasm and not to think mathematics as a difficult subject. She also quoted that life without mathematics is impossible and so students must concentrate on the pronunciations of mathematical terms, and every short forms or symbols or words used with specific purpose. She further added that students should have thirst to sustain their interest in trying and knowing new things regarding mathematics, out of their involvement. She demanded the students to be energetic to solve all the mysteries found in the wonderful and mysterious world of Mathematics. In her conclusion she motivated and wished the students of Pavai to become successful mathematicians. She then released the volume of articles presented by the students along with CD and our Principal Dr.R.Rajeswari received them. Mrs. Subashini, Associate Professor, Faculty Development Department, initiated her session by an activity. In her speech, she explained that everything in this universe is in motion, dynamics takes place in every aspects. She clearly explained the students about Kinematics and kinetics force. She visualized lively pictures to elaborate Rectilinear and Curvilinear motions. She further brought out the Three Laws of Newton with life time examples. Following her Mr. S.Sukumar, Dean, Civil, lively explained about the objects and the force. He further equipped the session by equating differential equations and differentiated statistics and dynamics with clear examples. He concluded the speech that Science depends on mathematics, as it acts as a tool and hence he asked the students to learn more from the seminar papers to be presented by the students. Soon after the Inaugural function, Paper presentation session was held in which twenty six students presented their papers. The Valedictory function of the Seminar started at 4.00 p.m. The students who presented the papers came out with their words of feedback. Dr.R.Rajeswari, Principal, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, in the Valedictory Address advised the students to present their papers by understanding the title, its meaning and its significance with proper solutions. Then she encouraged the paper presenters by distributing certificates. Ms. S.Soniya of III B.Sc Mathematics proposed the Vote of Thanks and the seminar came to an end with National Anthem.
