A Guest Lecture on the topic, ‘Mapping Techniques and Paleontology (Fossil Study)’ was organized by the Department of Geology of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women on 10.09.2019 in Keerthi Hall at 02.00 p.m. All UG and PG students of the Department of Geology attended the Guest Lecture. The programme started with the prayer song by the students. Ms.B.Srimathi II B.Sc Geology welcomed the gathering. Ms.J.Evanjelin Mahiba II B.Sc Geology introduced the Guest Speaker Mr.K.Anbazhagan Geologist, Mallur. The Guest speaker in his special address explained in detail about Mapping of the Geological formations, Earth surface features and the geological structures, Palaeontology such as Fossil record and how to collect the fossil collection from the field etc. He gave clear picture on the Palaeontology of palaeobotany, fossilization environment and also its applications. Students earnestly pinned their ears back to the lecture. Ms.P.Dharani of II B.Sc. Geology proposed the Vote of Thanks and the Guest Lecture came to an end with National Anthem.
