Department of Chemistry conducted a webinar on the title ‘Stereochemisyry of Organic Compounds’ on June 29, 2021 through Google Meet. The programme commenced with the prayer song by K.Magi Yasica and students. Ms.K.Nirosha of III BSc Chemistry welcomed the gathering.
Ms. K. Gowsalya of II BScChemistry introduced the chief guest. The Guest speaker Dr.M.Arockia Doss, Assistant Professor, St. Joseph University, Nagaland, in his speech said the importance of stereochemistry in taking medicine in our day today life. He also explained about Chirality, Enantiomers, various isomers, etc.He also showed the representation model for chemical compounds and explained the stereochemistry of that compounds. He also gave some tips and ideas to the students to easily identify the chemical structures. He concluded the speech by stating the importance of orientation and bonding in a chemical compound.
The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. P. Tharanika of I BSc Chemistry.
