On 27th February 2025, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics organized an Intercollegiate Cooking Competition titled “Savor the Millet Flavour – Sustain the Future.”
The event began with a welcome address by Ms. J. Sanmathi, III B.Sc N&D. Dr. N. Ezhili, Principal of Paavai Arts and Science College for Women, graced the occasion. Dr. S. Kailash, HoD, Department of Food Technology, Paavai Engineering College, served as the Chief Guest and Jury for the competition. The event was organized by Ms. A. Santhiya, HoD-In-Charge, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.

The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness about the benefits and varieties of millets. Participants showcased their culinary skills and creativity by preparing millet-based dishes, emphasizing the significance of millets in promoting sustainable and healthy food choices for the future.
After the tasting session, the winners were announced:
First Prize: Gnanamani College of Technology
Second Prize: Periyar University, Salem
Third Prize: Muthayammal Memorial College of Arts and Science
The event concluded successfully, leaving participants with a greater appreciation for millets and their importance in a nutritious and sustainable diet.
