The Department of Commerce organized a webinar on the topic “AI in Commerce” on August 19, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in Keerthi Hall, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women. Both UG and PG students from the Department of Commerce attended the event.
Mrs. S. Sudha, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce, introduced the guest speaker, Dr. V. Deepa, MIS Coordinator of the Faculty of Science and Humanities at SRM IST, and a Doctoral Committee member at St. Peter’s University and Vels University.
Dr. V. Deepa delivered a special address on the application of AI in commerce. She explored how AI can transform business operations, including enhancing customer behavior analysis, improving shopping experiences, streamlining automation, refining sales forecasting, and optimizing logistics. She also discussed AI’s role in customer service, focusing on chatbots and virtual assistants that provide excellent online support. Her lecture effectively illuminated the application of AI in commerce and inspired students for future endeavors.
The students participated eagerly and gained valuable knowledge about the integration of AI in commerce. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. P. Hemalatha from III B.Com.
