As a part of NCC Visit, a programme was conducted in Keerthi Hall at 2.00 p.m. The program commenced with the NCC song by the cadets. Cadet G.Savitha of I BCA welcomed the gathering.
Lt.G.Prema, NCC ANO, HoD of Commerce gave a presentation on the history of NCC at Pavai Arts and Science College for Women with the photos and videos. The presentation covered the awareness speech on the importance of NCC and on Covid, services and activities done by NCC cadets. The Commanding Officer Lt.Col.Sooraj S Nair and Naib Subedar Vikas Kumar Sharma were happy about the NCC activities done by the cadets. The Commanding Officer Lt.Col.Sooraj S Nair appreciated one of the cadets S.Saburna who has attended the Thal Sainik Camp and was awarded Direct General NCC Commendation Award for the year 2022. He praised her for attending Pre IGC Firing Camp at K.S.R College.
The special address was given by Lt.Col.Sooraj S Nair. In his speech he advised the cadets to understand the meaning of the NCC song and insisted them to sing with pride and privilege. He said that Involvement is required in NCC and cadets should understand what NCC is, make themselves systematic, organize and plan accordingly. He asked them to make the maximum utilization of NCC, focus on both NCC and studies, spend 10-15 minutes in reading newspaper or books every day and understand whatever taught. He further said that society depends on the students’ community and NCC is the platform to showcase their talents. She wished them for bright future and asked them not to bother about what others think and stay committed to learn.
The program came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by cadet R.Sandiya of I B.Sc Mathematics followed by the National Anthem.
Lt.Col.Sooraj S Naib and Naib Subedar.Vikas kumar Sharma checked all the files, records, stocks and the documents that are related to NCC. He also visited the NCC room and appreciated the chart works done and displayed by the cadets. Finally he appreciated the activities done by the cadets.
