The Department of Chemistry conducted an Association Activity on 26.04.2022 on the topic “CHEM COMPETE” in Keerthi Hall at 11.30 am. The Programme commenced with the prayer song as an invocation to God Almighty. Ms. V. Poongulazhy of II B.Sc. Chemistry welcomed the gathering.
Dr.J.Thavamani, Principal felicitated the gathering. Four events such as Chem App, Quiz-o-chem, Chemalloon and Recichem were conducted for all the students of the Department of Chemistry, Physics, Nutrition and Dietetics and Geology. Dr. D. Uma, Assistant Professors of Chemistry, introduced the team members and explained the rules for the Chem App and Quiz-o-Chem. In the Event Chem App, students participated and identified the Apparatus Name. Ms. B. Kavitha, Assistant professor of Chemistry introduced the team members and explained the rules for the Chemaloon and Recichem. In the event Chemalloon, students arranged the chemical formula by identifying the chemical names seen inside the balloons. The balloons were blown and burst in order to get the hint inside the balloon. In the event Recichem, students were asked to recite the names of the elements that were present in the periodic table in order.
The Principal fortified the participants for their zeal and zest in answering the questions. She also cheered the winners up and encouraged the students to take part in the forthcoming events. She exclusively appreciated the Head of the Department, the organizers and the staff members for putting efforts to make the event very informative, useful and successful.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms.S. Jayapriya of I B.Sc. Chemistry. The programme came to an end with the National Anthem.
