A Guest Lecture on the topic, Stereo Chemistry of Organic Compounds was organised by the Department of Chemistry of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women on 01.08.2019 in Keerthi Hall at 02.00 p.m. All UG students of the Department of Computer Science attended the Guest Lecture.The programme started with the prayer song by the students. G.Priya of III B.Sc. Chemistry welcomed the gathering. K.Magiyasica of II B.Sc. Chemistry introduced the Guest Speaker Mr.P.Madhu, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram. The Guest speaker in his special address explained in detail Geometrical Isomers, Optical activity of Allenes, Spiranes and Biphenyls and their structural arrangements. He discussed the ways to synthesis racemic mixtures and also the methods for resolution of d and l optically active compounds. The session was highly interactive and students learnt the concept of topic clearly.S.Sujitha of II B.Sc. Chemistry proposed the Vote of Thanks and the Guest Lecture came to an end with National Anthem.
