A Guest Lecture on the topic, Digital Image Processing was organised by the Department of Computer Science of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women on 11.07.2019 in Keerthi Hall at 02.00 p.m. All UG and PG students of the Department of Computer Science attended the Guest Lecture.
The programme started with the prayer song by the students. H.Shahin of III B.Sc. Computer Science welcomed the gathering. R.Meera of III B.Sc. Computer Science introduced the Guest Speaker Dr.C.Kavitha, M.Sc., M.C.A, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram. The Guest speaker in her special address explained in detail the Real World Images, its Binary representation in computer memory, pixel and its organization. She detailed how the size of an image is determined by the dimensions of the pixel array. She also gave a clear idea of 2D Image and its Dimensional Representation, different types of Image and different Image File Formats. She then elucidated the various stages of Image Processing Computer Graphics Concepts, Image Enhancement Techniques, Image Oriented tools (MATLAB & R Tool), Image Brightening, Noise Removal, Filter, Image Restoration, Image Segmentation Techniques, Lines and Edges its types. The students learned the concepts of the topic in a simple and clear way.
S.Janaranjani, III B.Sc[CS] proposed the Vote of Thanks and the Guest Lecture came to an end with National Anthem.
