UG Seminar on the topic, ‘HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN THE MODERN ERA’ was conducted by the Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women on 11.10.2018 in Keerthi Hall. All UG students of the department of Commerce and Business Administration attended the Seminar. The Inaugural session of the programme started with the prayer song by the students. Ms.J.Prithy olive Meletha welcomed the gathering. Dr.R.Rajeswari, Principal Pavai Arts and Science College for Women felicitated the gathering. The principal, in her Felicitation address stated that in this modern world human resources are replaced by machines so she insisted the students to develope their skill and attitude to avoid the problem of unemployment. She created an awareness among the students regarding the modern trends in human resource management and by explaining its importance. She also detailed the gap between organisational and individual goal howthe HRM could bring in good harmony between employer and employee. She also narrated the role of HRM in overcoming the stress of employees in the working environment. She concluded the speech asking the students to learn more from the seminar papers to be presented by the students. She then released the volume of articles presented by the students along with CD and Dr. K.Uma Maheshwari Head of the Department Of Tamil received them. Soon after the Inaugural function, Paper presentation session was held in which sixty three students presented their papers. The Valedictory function of the Seminar started at 2.40 p.m. The students who presented the papers came out with their words of feedback. Dr.R.Rajeswari, Principal, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women distributed certificates and CD to the paper presenters. Ms. K.Gowri of I B com proposed the Vote of Thanks and the seminar came to an end with National Anthem.
