On 12th February 2019, Alumni Series 2: Secret of Success was conducted in Keerthi Hall at 11.00 am. The programme commenced with the prayer song. P.Gangalakshmi of III B.A. English welcomed the gathering. The Principal of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women honoured the guest speaker with memento and felicitated the gathering. In her felicitation, she said that students should have an aim, which will help them to achieve success in career or family life. She insisted the students to receive and practice the general knowledge questions read out every morning in the assembly for getting through competitive examinations. She then said that learning is a continuous process and age is no bar to learn. She concluded her speech asking the students to learn at any cost and help the helpless to learn. She wished the students and the guest speaker of the day with all success. S.Anusha of II B.A. English introduced the guest speaker, the alumni of M.A. English, batch 2011 to 2013 in Pavai Arts and Science College for Women. The Guest speaker Mrs.M.Rajeswari, Junior Assistant, Handloom and Textiles Department, Salem Collectorate, Salem, in her special address said that the famous quote of Swami Vivekanandha ‘Arise,awake and donot stop until the goal is reached.’ and the coaching for competitive examinations given in Pavai Arts and Science College were the seeds of her success. She asked the students to have quest for knowledge and keep updating their knowledge without postponing their responsibilities and duties. She further said that students should not move with pessimists, who try to pull down with their negative influences and appealed them to always think and do good. She concluded her speech by revealing that high aim, perseverance and confidence are the secrets of success. She expressed her happiness for getting an opportunity to share her views on success in her alma mater. I and II UG Students of the Department of English attended the programme with enthusiasm and gathered the shared views on the secrets to success. The heads of other departments graced the occasion with their presence. The programme came to an end with the Vote of Thanks proposed by M.Jenifa of I B.A. English followed by National Anthem.
