On 3rd January 2013, the English Literary Association Activity was conducted for the students of English Department. The programme commenced with the prayer song. S.Yasmin Fargana of II M.A. English welcomed the gathering. Ms. R.P.N. Ezhil, Assistant Professor of English read the Minutes of the Association Activity of the English Department held on 10.08.2013. The ex-officio president of the Association Dr.S.Muthumeenakshi, Principal of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women accepted the Minutes, signed it and presided over the function.
The first activity was the staging of a comic One-Act-Play ‘A Robber Robbed’ by the students of the English Department. The play provoked the students to think about the practice of dowry system and at the same time the humour kept the play moving at a steady pace.
The play was followed by the ‘Fun’tastic time in which jokes were enacted by seven teams of students. The fun with the jokes kept the audience laughing throughout the session. M.Rajeswari of II M.A. English proposed the Vote of Thanks. At the end of the session, Madam Principal appreciated the students for their performance and expressed her happiness on the efforts taken by the students and the staff members. She particularly appreciated the costume of the students who performed in the one-act-play. She instructed all the students to grab the opportunity given to them. Finally the programme ended with the National Anthem.
