On 10-08-2012, the English Literary Association Activity was conducted for the students of English literature of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women. Nearly 250 students including the representatives of other departments took part in the activity held in the Keerthi Hall. The faculty members of other departments were also among the audience. The activity began in the afternoon with the Welcome Address delivered by Ms. V.Divya, II B.A. English. Ms. L.Jeevitha, Lecturer, Department of English introduced the Office Bearers to the gathering. Dr.S. Muthumeenakshi, Principal of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women was introduced as the President of the association, Ms, N,Kalaiarasi, the Head of the Department of English as the Vice- President and Ms.R.P.N.Ezhil, Assistant Proffessor, Department of English as the Joint Vice-president. Ms. C.Shalini of II M.A. English and Ms. G.Kowsika of III B.A. English were the Secretary and the Joint Secretary of the Association. The Quiz Competition arranged for the day was conducted by Ms. S.Sasikala, Assistant Professor of English, assisted by the scorers Mrs. S.Amutha and Ms. K.Gomathi belonging to the same department. Questions based on Shakespeare were asked to 5 different groups of students, consisting of 6 members each. The teams actively participated and enthusiasm bubbled among the audience too. This small step taken is certainly a giant leap for the English Literary Association.
The activity came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by the secretary of the Association.
