English Literary Association Activity for the academic year 2013-14, commenced with the Guest Lecture on 12/07/2013 at Keerthi Hall. The students of English Department and the Faculty members of various departments were the audience of the session. The programme started with the invocation of God. The principal Dr.S.Muthumeenakshi presided over the programme. Ms.M.Dhivyapriya of III B.A. English welcomed the gathering. Ms.M.Hemapriya, Lecturer, Department of English, read the minutes of the previous English Association Activity and the honourable principal signed the minutes. The guest speaker of the day Dr. R. Kasthuribai, Dean, Faculty Development, Paavai Institutions, carried her points on the title Life Skills through Literature. Her speech focused on the need to cultivate the right attitude in the mess of situations. Her lecture lifted the veil over literature in an entirely novel perspective on the three essential life skills-hard skills, soft skills and people skills. She said life can be beautiful and colourful when one knows how to manage oneself by giving a lively lecture through the humorous essays of Stephen Leacocks My Financial Career and G.K.Chestertons On Running after ones Hat. Her lecture radiated positive vibration among the students. Ms.T.G.P.Priyadharshini of III B.A. English, proposed the Vote of Thanks. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
