The Rock Climbing Training Camp 2024 was conducted by the 3 Madhya Pradesh Girls Battalion, NCC, at Gwalior from 15.11.2024 to 26.11.2024. A total of 273 cadets from across India representing nine Directorates participated in the camp. From Tamil Nadu, 16 cadets were selected, including 3 cadets from the Kovai Group. Cadet D. Kiruthika, a student of II B.Com (CA) from Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, was one among them.
On the first day, the cadets attended an instruction class on rock climbing, watched Inter-Directorate Basketball League matches, and gathered information related to agricultural cultivation. In the afternoon, they engaged in games like Volleyball and Tennis.
On the second day, the 100m Rock Climbing match was conducted.
On the third day, semi-final matches were held for selected cadets, followed by a theory class.
On the fourth day, the final Rock Climbing match took place.
On the fifth day, the cadets visited the Taj Mahal.
On the sixth and seventh days, the cadets performed Yoga, visited the Gwalior Fort in two batches, and attended theory classes in the evenings.
On the eighth day, the cadets went for jogging in the morning and played Volleyball matches. In the evening, they practiced for cultural events and watched a rock climbing documentary.
On the ninth day, Yoga was followed by a Volleyball Quarter Final Match in the afternoon and a Cultural Program in the evening.
On the tenth day, Yoga was followed by the Volleyball Final Match, and the winners of the previous matches also participated in a Tug-of-War match.
On the eleventh day, Yoga was followed by the Tug-of-War Final, in which the Tamil Nadu team secured First Place. Another cultural program was held in the evening.
On the twelfth and final day, certificates and prizes were distributed to all winners and participants.
This training camp helped cadets like D. Kiruthika develop self-motivation and self-confidence, while also enhancing their physical and mental strength through various challenging and enriching activities.
