As part of the activities of the Department of Tamil, a social awareness event was conducted in Kolinjipatti Village under the theme “கையெழுத்துப் பழகுவோம் – தன் மதிப்பை வளர்ப்போம்” on 31.08.2026.

The objectives of the event were to help illiterate members of the community learn to write their names and sign independently, create awareness about the importance of a signature, and develop the ability to sign on banking and government-related documents without depending on others. The initiative also aimed to reduce dependency, enhance self-confidence, and promote self-reliance among the participants.

A total of 16 first- and second-year girl students actively participated in the event and contributed to its successful implementation.
