Participation in Gram Panchayat Meetings under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)

On behalf of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, representatives participated in Gram Panchayat meetings held in the five adopted villages: Chandrasekarapuram, Goundampalayam, Koneripatti, Kakkaveri, and Ayeepalayam.

The meetings were organized to discuss the implementation of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) and NSS initiatives undertaken by the college. The sessions were attended by the UBA Coordinator and were led by the Principal Investigator, Dr. R. Poongodi, who explained the objectives of the UBA scheme in detail.

As part of the health initiative, the team proposed conducting a Free Mineral Bone Density (BMD) Camp at Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, Anaipalayam, on 26.01.2026. The purpose of this program is to identify cases of osteoporosis and low bone density, which are common in rural areas due to nutritional deficiencies, lifestyle factors, and limited medical awareness. Pamphlets regarding the BMD camp were also distributed among the villagers.

Dr. R. Poongodi further elaborated on the Village Adoption Plan in discussion with the Village Administrative Officer (VAO) and the villagers. Under this initiative, the college has adopted nearby villages to support their development in the areas of health, education, and social awareness.
