English Literary Association conducted Literary Quiz Competition on 29.07.2016 in Keerthi Hall at 11.30am. The Programme commenced with the prayer song, an invocation to the Lord Almighty. Ms.N.Aayisha Fareyath of III B.A English welcomed the gathering. Ms.M.Banupriya Lecturer, Department of English read out the minutes of the previous Association activity and the president of the Association Dr.Rajeshwari, Principal of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women accepted the minutes, singed it and presided over the function. The quiz competition was conducted by the Student Secretary Ms.S.Abirami Sundari of III B.A English, Joint Secretary Ms.R.Harshavarthini of II B.A English and S.Vimala of II M.A English. The participants were selected from all the classes of UG and PG of English department. The participants were divided into three teams namely Oxford, Cambridge, and Harvard with five members each. The quiz competition was set with ten rounds namely, Dumb-c, Rhymes, Rapid Fire, Literary quiz, Connection, Jumbled proverbs, Match the following, One word substitution, Tongue twisters, Onomatopoeia. There were certain set of questions to each team and were passed to the next team as a bonus question incase not answered by the particular team. The suggestion and the correct answers were immediately implemented. All the participants and the audience of English department actively participated in the quiz competition. Mrs.N.Kalaiarasi, HOD, Department of English declared the Oxford team as the winners among other successful participants. The audience were requested to note down all the question discussed in the quiz competition. The session came to an end with the vote of thanks given by Ms.S.Srikavya of II B.A English.
