A Guest Lecture on the topic,’Some Works on Ramanujan’ was organised by the Department of Mathematics of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women on 14.08.2019 in Keerthi Hall at 02.00 p.m. All UG and PG students of the Department of Mathematics attended the Guest Lecture. The programme started with the prayer song by the students. D.Monisha of III B.Sc. Mathematics welcomed the gathering. K.Santhiya of II M.Sc. Mathematics introduced the Guest Speaker Dr.V.Sadhasivam, Associate Professor and Head of Mathematics, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College. The Guest speaker in his special address elucidated the life and works of Ramanujan and his contribution to the field of Mathematics through PowerPoint presentation. He highlighted the academic genius of Ramanujan, who defeated his academic guide Hardy through his profound knowledge in Mathematics. Students actively and enthusiastically observed the lecture and gained enough information on the topic. K.Meenakshi of II M.Sc. Mathematics proposed the Vote of Thanks and the Guest Lecture came to an end with National Anthem.
