The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics organized an industrial visit to NIFTEM, Thanjavur, on 24.01.2026. The visit helped students gain practical knowledge about food processing and grain science.
During the visit, students learned about various food processing methods such as cleaning, milling, preservation, packaging, and storage. The importance of food safety, hygiene, and quality control was clearly explained. Students also gained basic knowledge about entrepreneurship and career opportunities in the food processing industry.
The visit also provided detailed insights into grain science. Students learned about the types of grains, their structure, nutritive value, methods of quality evaluation, and proper storage techniques.
