Language is an important tool for teaching and learning. Mother tongue has its own weightage in the Curriculum. Students focus upon equity education based on variety and characteristics of Tamil language & Literature. The Department of Tamil was established in the year 2009. It offers Tamil under Part – I for all the first year and second year undergraduate students of the college. The Department of Tamil, functions with well qualified and experienced staff members.

The faculty members are involved in triggering passion towards literary creativity among the students. The aim of the department is to inculcate the values of Tamil culture in the undergraduate learners majoring on other disciplines through the study of Tamil language and literature among undergraduates.
MUTHAMIZH MANTRAM
Muthamizh Mantram promotes the students to enable their Oratorical Capacity, and other thought provoking activities.

Department of Tamil
Mrs. P.Devi is presently working as an Assistant Professor and Head of Tamil Department, Pavai Arts and Science College for women, Namakkal. She has 10 years of experience in our college since 2009. She has completed her B.A Degree in Tamil Annamalai University Chidambaram. She has completed her M.A in Tamil at TamilNadu Open University. Also she did her M.Phil in Tamil at Prist University at Thanjavur. She has completed her B.Ed in Deivanaiammal College of Education under Periyar University. She has completed her M.Ed in Esther College of Education Tamilnadu teachers Education university. She has organized various Women’s Empowerment series for our college, Conference and Association Activities as a coordinator for the faculty members and students.
