Alumni Guest Lecture on Success Story and Industry Experience Sharing by Ms. G. Jeevitha, Communication Trainer, HiCitizen Life Skills.
The Department of Computer Science organized an Alumni Guest Lecture on 22.07.2026 at Keerthi Hall. The session was delivered by Ms.G.Jeevitha, Communication Trainer, Hicitizen Life Skills who belongs to the Batch 2023 – 2026.
Objective :
The Department of Computer Science organized a Success Story and Industry Experience Sharing session to provide students with practical exposure to industry expectations and career opportunities. The session aimed to inspire students through the guest’s professional journey while emphasizing the importance of communication skills, technical competence, confidence, employability, and continuous learning for career success. The programme also sought to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by sharing real-world experiences and practical career guidance.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Vidya K III B.Sc,CS(AI&DS). The beloved Principal honoured the Chief Guest with a memento as a token of appreciation. The Chief Guest was formally introduced by Asmiya S III B.Sc,CS(AI&DS).
During the session, Ms. G. Jeevitha shared her inspiring career journey and explained how dedication, continuous learning, and effective communication helped her establish herself as a Communication Trainer. She encouraged students to develop a growth mindset, improve their communication abilities, and continuously upgrade their technical knowledge to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving IT industry.
She highlighted the significance of communication skills for Computer Science students, explaining that technical expertise alone is not sufficient for career success. She emphasized verbal and written communication, presentation skills, teamwork, active listening, problem-solving, and professional etiquette as essential qualities for software developers, IT professionals, and technology consultants.
The speaker also provided valuable insights into current IT industry recruitment practices, employer expectations, and the skills required for placements in leading software companies. She advised students to strengthen their aptitude, coding fundamentals, technical knowledge, communication skills, and interview preparation
Ms.G.Jeevitha motivated the students by sharing real-life success stories and practical experiences from her professional career. She emphasized that confidence, continuous skill development, adaptability, effective communication, and a willingness to learn are the key factors for achieving long-term career success in the technology industry.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and asking questions related to career opportunities. Interview preparation, workplace communication, and professional development. The resource person addressed their queries with practical examples and valuable industry insights.
The vote of thanks was delivered by a student Monica M S III B.Sc,CS(AI&DS).The programme concluded successfully with positive feedback from the participants.
A total of 200 participants attended the programme, including 196 students and 4 faculty members.
Outcome
By the end of the session, students gained a better understanding of the communication and professional skills r. They became more aware of employer expectations, recruitment processes, interview techniques, workplace communication, and career development opportunities. The session enhanced their confidence, employability, and career readiness while motivating them to continuously improve both their technical and soft skills to succeed in the competitive technology sector.
