On 29 July 2026, the Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Paavai Arts and Science College for Women organized an insightful alumni guest lecture on “Safety is right, not a privilege” at Keerthi Hall. The programme featured Mrs.Dhanushya Rayadurai, Advocate, District court, Salem as the distinguished guest speaker.
The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song followed by Tamilthai Vazhthu. V. Prathiuskha of III B.Com (CA) warmly welcomed the gathering. K.M. Priyadharshini of III B.Com introduced the esteemed guest speaker, paving the way for an informative and inspiring session.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of safety in personal, academic, and professional environments.
Objectives of the Alumni Guest Lecture: “Safety is a Right, Not a Privilege”

The resource person, a distinguished alumna of the department, shared valuable insights on workplace safety, personal security, cyber safety, women’s rights, and the significance of fostering a culture of responsibility and mutual respect. Through real-life examples and interactive discussions, the speaker emphasized that safety is a fundamental right that should be ensured for every individual rather than being considered a privilege.
The session encouraged students to remain vigilant, understand their rights and responsibilities, and actively contribute to creating safe and inclusive spaces. Students enthusiastically participated in the interactive session by raising thoughtful questions and sharing their perspectives.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the esteemed alumna for her inspiring and informative address. The guest lecture proved to be highly beneficial, empowering students with practical knowledge and reinforcing the importance of safety, awareness, and responsible citizenship.
