The Department of Computer Science successfully organized a Webinar on “Emerging Technologies” on 14th August 2026.

The programme commenced with a prayer song by Ms.M.Ineya II B.C.A. and Ms.K.Deepika II B.Sc.CS. The event was compered by Ms. D.Divyasri III B.C.A. K.Yathula -II BCA delivered the Welcome Address, followed by the introduction of the Chief Guest by Ms. R.Karthika II B.C.A.

The resource person, Mr.M.Vijayaprakash, Software Engineer, Zoho Corporation, Coimbatore, delivered an informative session on “Agentic AI & Cyber Security”. He explained how Agentic AI works as an autonomous system that can plan, decide, and act to achieve goals with minimal human intervention. He discussed its applications in automation, decision-making, and intelligent agents.

In the cyber security segment, he covered major threats such as Phishing, Ransomware, Malware, DDoS attacks, and Data Breaches. He explained how AI is used for threat detection, anomaly detection, and automated response in modern security systems. He also highlighted the importance of data protection, network security, and ethical AI usage in the current IT landscape.

Mr.M.Vijayaprakash emphasized the need for students to develop skills in AI, Machine Learning, Cyber Security tools, and Cloud Security to meet industry requirements. He shared insights on job roles like AI Engineer, Cybersecurity Analyst, and SOC Analyst, and encouraged students to take up certifications and practical projects.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and clarifying their doubts on Agentic AI, cyber threats, and career opportunities.
