Career Counselling programme for the final year students of Pavai Arts and Science

A Career Counselling programme was organised for the final year students of the Pavai Arts and Science College for Women on 20.08.2026. Shri. CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions is the resource speaker who provided valuable guidance and insights on career planning, higher education, employment and entrepreneurship. The programme encouraged students to take pride in their chosen disciplines and understand that graduation can open multiple pathways for professional growth. Emphasis was placed on identifying one’s passion, setting clear career goals and continuously developing the knowledge and skills required to build a successful career.

During the session, sir explained the various higher education opportunities available to graduates from Arts and Science streams. The session also provided an extensive overview of private-sector career opportunities across disciplines including English, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Nutrition and Dietetics, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Tamil, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Information Technology and Cyber Security. Students were encouraged to understand how their academic qualifications, combined with appropriate skills and certifications, can lead to diverse career opportunities. Sir revealed the ways to identify the student’s individual interest, talents, skills, strengths and personality to achieve their ambition.

The session also highlighted the wide range of government and public-sector career opportunities available to graduates through UPSC, SSC, TNPSC, banking, Railways and Defence examinations, as well as opportunities in organisations such as DRDO, ISRO, BARC, ONGC, BHEL and NTPC. In addition to conventional employment, students were encouraged to explore self-employment, freelancing, consultancy and entrepreneurship based on their interests and areas of expertise. The importance of developing communication and computer literacy, continuous learning, collaboration, self-discipline, time management, integrity, resilience and goal orientation was strongly emphasised. The session concluded with an inspiring message to students to set clear goals, take initiative, remain self-motivated and consistently work towards transforming their aspirations into successful careers.
