Review and Re-View program for the second year students of Pavai Arts and Science

A Review and Re-view Programme was organised for the second-year students of Paavai Arts and Science College for Women on 19.08.2026 at 10 am. Shri CA. N. V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions, was the eminent resource speaker for the programme. Sir highlighted the importance of goal setting, which plays an important role in students’ lives. He emphasised that students should fix their goals, remain focused and committed to them from the first year and continue their efforts until the final year. He highlighted that setting clear goals and pursuing them with consistency and determination would empower students to overcome challenges and confidently adapt to changing situations.

Sir began the session by presenting statistics related to goal setting, helping students understand the difference between individuals who write down their goals and those who do not. He quoted the words of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, “Aim before 20, acquire knowledge, hard work and perseverance,” and explained that these are important steps towards achieving one’s goals. He interacted with the students about their past and present goals and encouraged them to reflect on the efforts they had taken to improve their pathways towards achieving them. The session also featured the inspiring achievements of Paavai alumni. He encouraged students to first understand themselves by identifying their interests, talents, strengths and personalities.

He also outlined six principles for sustaining success: having a genuine goal, following an ethical and legal path, demonstrating perseverance and continuous efforts, committing to hard, smart and fast work, maintaining high discipline and having strong God faith. The traits of a successful personality were also discussed, including flexibility, effective communication skills, computer literacy, teamwork, problem-solving ability and initiative. In his presentation, sir explained that goals should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound (SMART). He also introduced the Success Circle, emphasising that continuous hard work, endurance and the acquisition of knowledge are essential for achieving one’s goals. The session concluded with a powerful reminder to the students: “Don’t compare yourself to others; compare yourself to the person you were yesterday.” The programme inspired the students to reflect on their goals, evaluate their progress and remain committed to continuous self-improvement and success.
