The Department of Computer Science successfully organized a Guest Lecture on “How to Overcome Stage Fear” on 06 August 2026.

The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered by Ms. R. Sandhiya, II B.Sc. Computer Science (AI & DS), and Ms. N. Deepika, II B.Sc. Computer Science. The event was compered by Ms. S. Subhashini, II B.Sc. Computer Science. Ms. S. Pavani, II B.Sc. Computer Science (Cyber Security), delivered the Welcome Address, followed by the introduction of the Chief Guest by Ms. R. Mamathiy, II B.Sc. Computer Science (AI & DS).

The resource person, Ms. V. Sreekeerthi, Communication Trainer, AKV Matric School (India) Pvt. Ltd., delivered an informative and engaging session on “How to Overcome Stage Fear.” She explained that stage fear can be overcome through thorough preparation, which builds confidence, and by practising steady breathing techniques to calm nervousness. She also emphasized the importance of positive visualization and developing a confident mindset.

The resource person highlighted that gradual exposure to audiences, beginning with small groups and gradually progressing to larger audiences, helps individuals overcome anxiety and become more comfortable with public speaking. Maintaining a positive mindset and shifting focus from personal fear to effectively engaging with the audience can make the experience less intimidating. She also emphasized the importance of relaxation techniques, regular practice, and seeking constructive feedback after each attempt to ensure continuous improvement.

The session encouraged students to transform nervous energy into confidence and view stage fear as an opportunity for personal growth, effective communication, and self-expression. The programme was informative and beneficial to the students, providing them with practical strategies to overcome stage fear and enhance their communication skills.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. M. Sumithra, II B.Sc. Computer Science (AI & DS).
