The Department of Physics successfully organized the “Physics Talent Hunt – Science Quiz and Problem-Solving Competition” on 28 July 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Keerthi Hall. The event was conducted with the objective of enhancing students’ scientific knowledge, analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills through a series of engaging and interactive activities.
The programme commenced with a brief welcome address and an introduction to the competition, during which the participants were informed about the rules and objectives of the event. Students from various departments enthusiastically participated, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere.
The competition consisted of three exciting rounds:
- Round I – Science Quiz: This round was conducted by A. Viveka Varshidaa, III B.Sc. Physics. Participants answered a variety of questions related to Physics and General Science, demonstrating their knowledge, confidence, and quick thinking.
- Round II – Connections: This round was hosted by S. Kaviyashree, III B.Sc. Physics. Participants identified the relationships between scientific concepts, laws, discoveries, scientists, and physical phenomena. The activity strengthened their analytical and conceptual understanding while making learning both enjoyable and interactive.
- Round III – Jumbled Words: This round was conducted by S. Sivapriya, III B.Sc. Physics. Participants rearranged jumbled Physics and Science terms within the allotted time, showcasing their subject knowledge, observation skills, and presence of mind.
Throughout the programme, the participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm, teamwork, and a healthy competitive spirit. The interactive rounds encouraged critical thinking, scientific curiosity, and collaborative learning. The winners and active participants were appreciated and congratulated for their outstanding performances. The programme concluded successfully, leaving the students with a memorable and enriching learning experience.
