The Department of Commerce organized a webinar on the topic “Overview of GST” on July 18, 2025. The session was delivered by Dr. A. Arumugam, Professor and Head, School of Commerce, Vel Tech University, Avadi, Chennai – 62. It was held at Keerthi Hall, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, at 10:00 AM. The students of the Department of Commerce attended the lecture.

The event began with a welcome address by Ms. R.M.K. Bharathi, III B.Com (CA), followed by Ms. A. Haripriya, III B.Com (CA), who introduced the guest speaker.

Dr. A. Arumugam delivered a special address on the topic, focusing on the features, importance, benefits, challenges, and implementation of GST. The session was insightful and informative, providing students with a deeper understanding of the Goods and Services Tax and its significance in the Indian economy.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. S. Rajakumari, III B.Com (CA), Department of Commerce.
