A Special camp was conducted from 05.02.2020 to 11.02.2020 in Kurukkapuram Panchayat as a part of NSS Unit-I activity. Our Principal Dr. R.Rajeswari inaugurated the camp on 05.02.2020. In the Inaugural address, she asked the students to keep the surroundings clean, serve the people from rural areas their best, create awareness among them and wished them all the best for the success of the camp. Kurukkapuram Panchayat Leader in his felicitation expressed his gratitude for choosing their village to lend their service and wished them to carry on their service. The NSS Officer then detailed the proceedings to be held during the special camp.events On 05.02.2020, Dr.K.Umamaheswari, Head of the Department of Tamil, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, addressed the gathering on the topic “Clean India” at 2.30 pm. She created awareness among the students regarding cleanliness through her energetic speech. On 06.02.2020, NSS volunteers enthusiastically involved themselves in cleaning the campus of Panjayat union primary school and the temple. At 2.30 p.m. an awareness session on “Eradication of Plastic” was given to the students by Mrs.N.Kalaiarasi, Head of the Department of English, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women. In the session, she explained the disadvantages and evil effects of using plastics and asked the students to create awareness among the people to completely eradicate plastic. In the fourth day of the camp, on 07.02.2020, NSS volunteers planted saplings in Kozhinchipatti Village in the forenoon and at 2.30 p.m. NSS Officer of Paavai Engineering College, Mr.C.Rathnakumar explained the types of roads, their usage, maintenance of road, importance and benefits of planting trees through his speech on “Road Maintenance and Tree Planting”. On 08.02.2020, NSS volunteers cleaned Kozhinchipatti village in the morning. At 2.30 p.m. Mrs. A.Samundeeswari, Assistant Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Pavai Engineering College, gave an energetic session on “Women in Modern Age” asserting the power and determination of women in various fields and insisted the NSS students to think good, do good and become role models with their vast ability. In the fifth day of the camp, on 09.02.2020, NCC Chief Officer, Paavai Institutions, addressed the gathering on the topic “Importance of Blood and Organ Donation”. He induced the noble thought of donating blood and organs in the minds of the students by stating that donation of blood and organ is the noble activity through which many human lives can be saved. On 10.02.2020, at 10.30 a.m, NSS volunteers conducted a rally and created awareness on AIDS. Later at 2.30 p.m Mrs.A.Sugantha, Counselor, ICTC Government Hospital, Rasipuram detailed the causes and effects of AIDS and explained the precautions to be taken to avert AIDS through a session on “Awareness on AIDS”. The Volunteers of NSS cleaned Vandipettai village enthusiastically in the forenoon of the seventh day of the Camp. Mr.A.Immanuel, Head of the Department of ECE created awareness on handling laws, finding out contaminations in things and asked the students to make the ignorant people know about pollutions through his speech on “Legal Project”. The valedictory of the NSS Camp was held on 11.02.2020, at 3.00 pm. In the valedictory speech, the Principal of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women appreciated the NSS volunteers for their incomparable service to the society through various activities. She asked the students to carry on their service and help develop the nation to become Clean India.
