PAVAI ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN
ANNUAL REPORT (2009-10)

Pavai Arts and Science College for Women was established in August – 2009 with 102 students and is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem. Our College offers five Under Graduate courses and is awaiting for the affiliation of an additional under graduate course and three Post Graduate courses.

In our college, Orientation Programmes were conducted for the staff members and students by the International Jaycee Trainer Mr.T.K.Chandrasekaran and his co-trainers. Our English Literary Association was inaugurated on 6th of February by Dr.V.Anbarasi, Associate professor of English, Government Arts College, Salem-7. The association organized various events at regular intervals. Prof. Chenniyappan gave a pep talk to the students regarding ‘Communication Skills’ and to the staff members about ‘Paavai Culture’. Special attention was given to the students to improve their fluency in English. Guest Lectures were conducted periodically. Two different guest lectures were given by Prof. Kandasamy, visiting Professor of Paavai Institutions on the topic ‘Attitude’.

Students of our college actively participated in various competitions held in a domestic programme ‘Kumudham Snehethi’. They also participated in various sports activities conducted within the campus. Our staff members attended Faculty Development Programmes in other colleges. Our students of English department attended seminars organized by Saradha College, Salem on the topics ‘Animals in Literature’ and ‘Sons and Daughters in Literature’.

Our First semester results were very encouraging. Most of our staff members produced 100% results in their subjects. Four of our students have scored centum in Mathematics. One student has secured centum in three papers. One student in two papers and the remaining students have scored centum in one paper respectively.

We are stepping forward in the glorious path to impart goal oriented and value added education and also to create and sustain a community of learning that sticks to social, ethical, cultural and economic upliftment.

 

PAVAI ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN
ANNUAL REPORT (2010-11)

The current academic year of our college commended on 16th June 2010. At present, the college is in the second year with 240 students. Our college offers 6 under graduate courses and 2 post graduate courses.

In our college, orientation programme was conducted for the staff members by the International Jaycee Trainer (Late) Shri.T.K.Chandraskearan and his Co-Trainers. Guest lectures were conducted at regular intervals. A special lecture was given by Dr.D.Kumaresan, Principal of Minerva Arts and Science College, on the topic "Time Management". Senior Professors of Paavai Institutions addressed the students on various occasions.

The "Red Ribbon Club" was inaugurated in our college on 11th of January by Mr.H.Shantharam, Co-ordinator of R.R.C.Namakkal. He gave a pep-talk to the students regarding 'AIDS awareness and Blood donation'.

Staff members and students of our college actively participated in seminars and conferences held at various colleges. Faculties and students of Mathematics department participated in a UGC sponsored National Conference on "Recent Trends in the Applications of Mathematical Science" Organized by Vellalar College for Women, Erode.

Our staff members of commerce department and six students from the department of Business Administration presented papers on "Inflation and its impact on Indian Economy" at Trinity College of Arts and Science for Women, Namakkal. Various papers on "Impact of ICT in Banking Sector" were presented by the faculties and students of Department of Commerce and Business Administration at Sri Ganesh College of Arts and Science, Salem.

An industrial visit to Seshasayee paper and boards limited, Pallipalayam was organized for our students of Department of Business Administration and Computer Science.

The results of Periyar University Examinations held in April 2010 and November 2010 for the Under Graduate and Post Graduate students were highly commendable. The students have distinguished themselves by securing eight centum and brought laurels to our college. Most of our faculty members produced 100% results in their respective subjects.

Our college conducted Periyar University level kho-kho tournament on 19th and 20th of August 2010. Our Physical Directress Mrs.R.Sasikalawas nominated as section committee members in Periyar University. Level cross country race on 26th of August 2010 at K.S.R. Arts and Science College, Thiruchengode. She had also been nominated as a selection committee member at university level basket ball tournament, which was held on 4th and 5th October 2010 at J.K.K.Arts and Science College, Komarapalayam.

The students of our college participated in various sports events conducted within the campus. Our students added a feather to our cap by winning overall championship for various sports events conducted among B.Ed, College, Teacher Training Institute and our college.

We are stepping forward in the glorious path to impart goal-oriented and value-added education and also to create and sustain a community of learning that sticks to social, ethical, cultural and economic upliftment.

 

PAVAI ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN
ANNUAL REPORT (2011-12)

Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, which was started during 2009-2010, started its third year of service with a total students of 489[both UG and PG] during 2011-12 and with a set of qualified and dedicated teachers in its stream.

The College offers six UG courses and three PG courses and it has produced good academic results during the University Examination [Odd semester 2011-12]. The students of Department of Mathematics and Computer Science have secured 17 centum in various subjects.

As a part of academic activity, the college trains the final year students in various disciplines like general knowledge, quantitative aptitude, general Tamil and general English to face competitive examinations, thereby enabling them to be placed properly at good jobs, immediately on completion of their degree.

Various guest lectures were organized by different departments during 2011-12. On 5.8.2011, a special lecture was given by the representatives of Inner Wheel Club, special invitees Dr.Malliga Kulanthaivel and Dr.Alagammal gave an useful session on the “Importance of Mothers feeding”.

On 13.09.2011, a one day workshop was conducted as a part of Red Ribbon Club activity by its co-ordinator Mr.H.Santharam. Special lectures were given by invitees such as HIV infected person, a representative from Government Hospital, Rasipuram and a counselor of Integrated Counseling and Training Centre, to the members of RRC.

Within the college campus, In-house culturals were conducted on 23.07.2011, where the talents of first years were exhibited. Various guest lectures were given to the students by professors from Paavai family on topics such as ‘Nutrition and Health Awareness’, ‘Student-Teacher Behaviour’, etc,. An orientation program was arranged for I year students on 14.12.11, on the topic ‘Time Management and Goal setting’.

Rangoli competitions were conducted during the month of Margazhi [all days] for all the students.

Muthamizh Mantram of the college was inaugurated on 20.12.11 by Dr.Arasuparameswaran, Professor, Department of Tamil, Arignar Anna College, Namakkal, which was presided over by the Chairman of Paavai family.

As a part of the Muthamizh Mantram activity, Oratorical competitions were conducted to the I and II year UG students of Pavai Arts and Science College for Woman, every Friday on various topics like, Porumaiyum porupunarchium, ullaipae uyarvu, saathanai pengal etc,.

A Pattimandram was conducted by the second year students of the college under the topic, “,d;iwa tho;tpy; Neh;kiw rpe;jid mjpfkh? vjph;kiw rpe;jid mjpfkh?”, which was a highly appreciable effort made by them.

In order to make the students talk spontaneously and without any hesitation, presently, the practice of making them talk on the spot on any topic given to them, has been started for which about 100 topics were collected from them earlier.

To recognize and respect the services of farmers and their contribution to the society, Pongal festival was conducted in the college campus on 13.1.12 by preparing pongal and serving them to God with Bhajans.

A guest lecture was arranged for the students of English department on 27.1.12. Prof.Rathnasamy, retired Headmaster enacted some Shakespeare’s plays to enable the students to increase their memory power.

The students of BBA department of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women were taken to various concerns for Industrial visits which is a part of academic curriculum. Some students participated in the competitions conducted by Institutions like Consumer Voice and Manam Mandram, Nagaichuvai Mandram and won prizes.

To enable the students to enrich themselves in English, efforts are being made to make the college an English speaking zone by making the students participate in various debate and oratorical competitions.

The students of our college are motivated to maintain good physique by involving themselves in various sports events. Basket Ball Tournament was conducted on behalf of Periyar University in Paavai campus on 10.10.11 and 11.10.11.

The college functions with an aim to bring women administrators in all the fields.

 

PAVAI ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN
ANNUAL REPORT (2012-13)

Pavai Arts and Science College for Women has a magnificent beginning from 2009. Our Institution has stepped into the fourth year of service with a total strength of 702 students during the academic year 2012-13 with a pack of eminent and highly dedicated faculty members.

The college offers 6 UG courses and 3 PG courses and is awaiting for the affiliation of 2 additional under graduate course. One Post graduate course and three M.Phil courses.

As a part of the scholastic activity, the college trains the final year UG and PG students in various disciplines like General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, General Tamil, General English, SET, NET and Tallly course. This enables and educates the students to think critically, work creatively, communicate effectively and become highly competent by providing quality higher education to the students and thereby secure a good career.

ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES:

A Chinese Proverb says, “Tell me and I’ll forget; Show me and I may remember Involve me and I’ll understand.”

This involvement was incorporated in the students through various activities orgainsed by the Departmental Associations during 2012-13. The odd Semester began with the Quiz programme on Shakespeare was arranged for the students of the Department of English. A Guest Lecture by Prof.R.Chenniappan was arranged for students of the Department. The students enacted an English Skit ‘Robber Robbed’ and a Shakespeare’s play ‘Antony and Cleopatra’ was telecasted.

The Department of Mathematics conducted activities focusing on arithmetic calculations, magical diagrams, Math Puzzle, Math Modelling, Math Game and Math Magic. The PG students presented papers related to their subjects.

Poster presentation and a practical debugging programme were organized by the Computer Science Department. A Quiz programme on the basics of comuters was conducted and a Power Point presentation showing how to create an email and online link was shown to the students.

The Department of Commerce and Business Administration organized an advertising activity, in which the students launched new products, thereby developing their marketing skills. A ‘Market Day’ was organised by the students, who put up stalls and marketed their goods showing their marketing, advertising and accounting skills.

The library Association encouraged the students to present book reviews and a PowerPoint presentation depicting the establishment of the library was shown. In the even Semester the final year students presented selected reviews of Tamil novels.

The Fine Arts Association prides itself on conducting numerous activities like singing competition, dancing competition and Poster Presentations. This enables the students to develop a spirit of healthy competition and identify their hidden talents.

As a part of the Muthamizh Mandram Activity a Tamil debate was conducted on the topic “Safety of women lies in the hands of the society, Family or Women themselves”. Kalki’s stories were also enacted by the joint venture of the students from various departments.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

The Tamil festival Pongal was celebrated with great zeal and zest in the college campus. Pongal was repared and cultural dances depicting the folk arts of Tamil Nadu were performed by the students.

On account of the International Day for Girl child celebrated of January 24th an awareness programme the safety of Girl children was held in the college emphasizing on the importance of girl children and their empowerment. Parents with girl children were honoured and speeches were delivered by the students on the same.

To enable the students to enrich themselves in English and to make the campus an English Speaking Zone, students are made to participate n debates and oratorical competitions within the campus. They also took active interest in participating in the ‘Speak English Rally’ conducted by the English Department.

The students of our institution also took part in various motivating talks and awareness programmes conducted intending their moral and emotional development. First Aid awareness was given the the students by Mr.M.Loganathan, Paavai Institutions.

A one day workshop was conducted as a part of the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) Activity by its coordinator Mr.H.Santharam. Special lectures were given by invitees during this occasion.

A Two Day Orientation by Jaycee Trainers was organized for the students to empower them and mould them into better individuals paving the path for their success.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES:

A Two Day National Level Conference was conducted by the Department of Commerce on the topic “Role of commercial banks in women development” on February 24 and 25”.

The students of BBA department were taken for an Industrial Visit as part of their Academic Curriculum.

RESULTS PRODUCED:

Our College has produced 80% results in the University Examination conducted for the first Batch of students (2009-12). We proudly announce that two of our out gone students B.Sc (Maths) D.Parasakthi and G.Thiravidaselvi have secured University 5th and 9th rank respectively and have added feathers to the cap of our Institutions. The semester results were very encouraging. 14 students have secured centum marks in various subjects in the Department of Mathematics.

THE VICTORIOUS STUDENTS:

Students of our college actively participated in various competitions and bagged prizes.

1.The students of English Department participated in the Constentia– 13 literary competitions conducted by Vysya College, Salem and won the second place for the theme dance.

2.Students of I M.Sc Maths S.Deepa and P.Devipriya have present a paper on Application of Mathematic in Real Life conducted by Vivekanandha College of Arts and Science and won the II place.

3.E.Janani of II M.Sc Maths got second place in a paper presentation conducted by AVS College of Arts and Science, Salem. She presented a paper on the title Edge Domination Numbers in Graphs.

4.A good number of students from the Computer Science Department participated in the Cyber Quest Competition Conducted by Vysya College, Salem.

5.Students of the Computer Science Department have participated in the Youth Science Festival in the project presentation at Mehendra Engineering College, Tiruchengode.

6.Students have participated in the cultural and won prizes in the Oratorical and Essay writing competitions conducted by the Periyar University, Salem on account of Women Days.

7.Our students have also participated in the Cultural programs conducted by Traditional Folk and Arts Centre, Periyar University, Salem.

8.Students have taken part in the competitions held at Sri Saradha College, Salem on account of celebrating the 150th birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekanandha.

9.Our students have participated in the campus interviews conducted by various firms like Sun Network, Wipro, Sutherland and CTS and have been selected R.Sasirekha of III B.A English has been placed in Sun Networks, Chennai.

The students of our college are motivated to maintain a good physique by involving themselves in mass drills, aerobics, sports events and tournaments. Students’ have emerged victorious in the Athletic events conducted by Periyar University.

ANNUAL REPORT (2013-14)

Extending a warm welcome to everyone present here, I wish to present the Annual Report of the college for the year 2013-2014.

Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, affiliated to Periyar University, Salem was established in the year 2009. The college offers seven Under Graduate courses, four Post Graduate courses and three M.Phil courses. We strive to develop confidence in the minds of our students to enable them to become good cultured and disciplined students.

Our staff members have presented many papers in regional, state, national and international level seminars. The regular feature of the college is the conduct of seminars and paper presentation for the students to encourage students’ participation and leadership.

ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES

To ignite the spirit of energy, enthusiasm, participation and healthy competition among the students, various events like seminars, paper presentation, quiz program and competitions at regular intervals are organized by the Departments of English, Maths, Commerce and Computer Science.

A one day State Level Conference on the topic “Post Colonial Perspectives in Indian English Literature” was conducted by the Department of English on 13.09.2013. Dr.R.Saravanan Selvan, Associate Professor and Head i/c of the Department of English, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore was the Chief Guest for the occasion.

An English play on ‘Robber Robbed’ was enacted by the students skillfully, which showcased their talents. In order to bring out the historic talent of the students, the Muthamizh Mantram organised a Tamil play on ‘nghpa Guhzj;jpy; nka;g;nghUs; ehadhh; Guhzk;’.

Department of Mathematics conducted a paper presentation on the topic ‘Real Time Application in Graph Theory’ and a guest lecture on ‘Graph and its Application’ by a special guest, Mr.F.Anthoni Robert Xavier, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics of Paavai College of Engineering during this academic year.

Department of Commerce organized a paper presentation on the topic ‘Impact of Foreign Direct Investment’ and a seminar on ‘Accounting Standards’ to bring out the hidden potentials of the students. Department of Computer Science conducted a paper presentation on ‘Real Time Applications in Data Structure’ and a guest lecture on title ‘Java Programming’ delivered by Mr.B.Venkatesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, Paavai Engineering College.

Library Association conducted book review competition, in which many number of students came out with reviews on English and Tamil books of leading writers.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES

On 29th July 2013, a motivational speech on the topic “Life Skills” was conducted by Mr.C.Loganathan, HoD, Audio Visual of Paavai Institutions. Dr.R.Kasthuri Bai, Dean, Faculty Development, Paavai Institutions gave a special lecture on ‘Filial Responsibility’ on 13th and 14th of August 2013. ‘Girls Day’ was celebrated on 8th of August 2013, in which the girls shared their experiences in helping their parents in the household activities.

PLACEMENT CELL

To enable our final year UG and PG students to participate in various competitive exams, weekly coaching classes are conducted for our students in the subjects of general Tamil, general English, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge. Our active placement cell has enabled students to get jobs in all multinational firms. Totally sixteen students have been placed in CTS and TCS company. Our students have participated in various campus drives conducted by Periyar University. Our college joined hands with Tamil Nadu Government Employment and Training Department, Tamil Nadu Skill Mission Development, District Employment Office, Namakkal and conducted a grand job fair, in which honourable District Collector, Shri. V. Dhakshinamoorthy, encouraged the recruited candidates by issuing them appointment order.

ENTREPRENEUR DEVELOPMENT CELL

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of our College took a great leap forward this year and conducted many activities among students to create awareness about entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial Market Day was conducted for the students to give practical exposure on business. Paper presentations were conducted periodically for the students on women Entrepreneurship. Guest lectures were delivered to the students by eminent women bank managers. Oratorical Competition was conducted to the students on the topic ‘Role of Entrepreneurship in Economic Development’. To develop the skill of Entrepreneurship in the students a workshop on ‘Jewellery Making’ was conducted.

National Service Scheme

The NSS unit in our college with 50 students is ever ready to render services in all social activities. The NSS students went for Trekking to Yercaud hills and involved themselves in eradicating the waste plastics. A guest lecture on ‘The Importance of Social Service’ was arranged for the students to make them realise the need of service to the society. Our Staff Mrs.G.Prema, Lecturer, Department of Commerce attended orientation programme for NSS programme officers at Avinashalingam University in Coimbatore.

Red Ribbon Club

Red Ribbon Club of our college with 100 students conducts activities periodically in our college. Tamil Essay writing competition on the title “Nehaw;w tho;Nt Fiwtw;w nry;tk;” was conducted as an activity for the students of Red Ribbon Club on 6th of September 2013.

Academic Performance

Our semester results were very encouraging. Most of our staff members produced 100% results in their subjects. Twenty Two of our students in the Department of Mathematics have scored centum in Mathematics.

SPORTS AND GAMES

Greater importance is given to physical education and the students are encouraged to participate in the District, State, National and University Tournaments. Many of our players and athletes have added the glory of our college by participating and winning in many tournaments and others sports events in the year 2013-14.

Our college team participated in Periyar University Inter-collegiate Tournaments in various fields like hand ball, foot ball, chess, ball badminton, fencing, etc. P.Priyanka of I M.Sc. C.S. and V.Kanaga of I B.Com C.A got gold and bronze medal respectively in Judo. B.Sujitha I B.B.A. participated in All India Tournament in Handball. Many of our Athletes have also participated and secured certificates and medals in tournaments organized by private associations and clubs.

VALUE EDUCATION

Value Education and Awareness of Yoga was given to the students to keep both their physic and mind in a healthy state. S.Nishanthi and N.Bhuvaneshwari of I B.Com.C.A. won first prize in Internatioal Yoga Competion. They also took second and third place in Yoga Competition held in New Delhi. They brought laurels to our college by winning District, National and International level trophies.

Our college provides with scholarships for the eligible SC and ST students to help them pursue their studies.

All our achievements are the results of the copious co-operation and the hard work of our Chairman, Correspondent, Management, teaching and non-teaching staff and students.

We feel proud to be the members of this prestigious institution and we will always contribute our service for the cause of women’s education.

I conclude this report with prayers to God Almighty to shower his blessings on all of us.

The First Year Inauguration ceremony for all UG streams took place on 16.06.2016 in Ananda Arangam. Smt.N.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions lit the lamp along with dignitaries. Dr.R.Rajeswari, Principal, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women welcomed the gathering. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman of our Paavai Educational Institutions hoisted the Paavai flag and warmly greeted the parents and the students.

The International Day of Yoga was celebrated in our college on 21.06.2016 at Keerthi Hall. Dr. R. Rajeswari, Principal, delivered the keynote address on the values and benefits of yoga. Followed by the keynote address, a yoga session was held for the students at Arivanandha Arangam.

An intra-collegiate fest Sristi’16 was celebrated on 11.07.16 and 12.07.16. there were 30 fest events. The Valedictory function was held on 13.07.16 at Anandha Arangam. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions, presided over the function. Smt.N.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Educational Institutions felicitated the gathering. Mrs. Rajeswari Ventkatraman, National Jaycees Trainer, was the Chief Guest



A Two Day workshop on the topic “Enhancing the efficacy of the HoD’s” was organized by Staff Development department of Paavai Institutions on 14.07.16 and 15.07.2016, 6 HoD’s and the Principal attended the workshop. The knowledge gained by the HoD’s in respect of Teaching and Learning process and the best practices that can be followed was shared with their faculty members.

The Literary & Debate Association (Tamil) activity was conducted on 29.07.2016 at Keerthi Hall. As part of the association activity, Tamil Oratorical competition was conducted on the topic "Penmai Potruthum" for the student of all departments. Dr.R.Rajeswari, Principal appreciated the participants for their effort and enthusiasm and encouraged the students to participate in the forthcoming competitions.

In connection with Independence Day celebrations and to develop Patriotism, the students and staff members were asked to give speech on the topics: Freedom Fighters, role of students in upholding the Independence, Sacrifices of the freedom fighters for getting the Independence. Two Students and One Teacher spoke in English. One Student and one Teacher spoke in Tamil on 11.08.2016 and 12.08.2016



The Youth Day competitions were conducted by the Periyar University on 12.08.2016. 34 NSS students accompanied by three staff members attended and our students won 1st Prize in Mime competition.

The 70th Independence Day of our Nation was celebrated in a colorful and glorious manner on 15.08.2016. Shri. CA. N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions hoisted the National Flag and accepted the salute and guard of honour by the students of Paavai Institutions.

The Orientation Programme given by Jaycee Trainers was held from 17.08.2016 to 19.08.2016 and it was inaugurated at Keerthi Hall. Shri. CA. N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the inaugural function. Smt.N.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions lit the Kuthuvillakku along with the dignitaries. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Paavai Institutions in his presidential address focused on the importance of the session saying that it would help the girl students to remove ignorance and help them increase their self-confidence and thereby it would enable them a better understanding of themselves. The correspondent addressed the students to shape their individualities and emerge as successful women who can be set as examples to the future generation.

The Department of Computer Science organized an activity called "CONNECTION" on 26.08.2016 at Keerthi Hall. The Programme commenced with the prayer song. The students were divided into five groups consisting of 6 students each as Apple, Hp, Lenovo, Microsoft and Acer. The students were active and enthusiastic throughout the programme

The N.S.S Students of Pavai Arts & Science College for Women who went for trekking to Yercaud Hills on 10.09.16 and collected the waste plastic bags and destroyed Non-bio degradable materials. The students also created awareness among the people who use plastic bags and asked them to carry bags from their home before going for shopping.

The Tamil Literary Association conducted an activity on 30.12.2016 in Keerthi Hall. As a part of the association activity Tamil Vivathamedai was conducted on the topic "Demonetisation" for the students. 16 students from Pavai Arts and Science college for women, 4 students from Paavai Engineering College and one Student from Paavai College of Technology participated in the programme. The Swachhta Pakhwada was celebrated in our college from August 1 to August 15, 2017. As a part of this programme the students actively cleaned the entire campus. The N.S.S students undertook door-to-door campaign in a nearby village Kolinjipatti to create awareness on importance of cleanliness.They also rendered service to the immates children and the adults in the Mary Orphanage.

As a one day Industrial visit totally 60 students of III B.Com, III B.Com (CA), III BBA and II M.Com of our college were taken to Nandhi Dhall Mill, Salem on 8.2.2018. On 19-02-2018 for 142 students of I B.Com, I B.Com(CA) and I BBA students went on an environmental field trip to Kozhinjipatti village. The students gave some useful advice and precautions to the village people to take care of their health. The RRC peer group leadership program was organized by the NSS of Periyar University in Commerce Seminar Hall in the University campus on 22.3.2018. Two RRC volunteer students P.Gopika and R.Kowshika of II Physics and one faculty of our college attended the program. The programme created awareness about the Leadership quality and how to serve to the society in a cheerful manner. Our Students were also awarded participation certificates for attending the program. After attending the program the students were filled with more zest to do service for the public.

The AIDS awareness rally was organized for the RRC students of our college on 03.04.2018 in Kolinjipatti, a nearby village. 98 RRC students of both UG and PG participated in Rally. Our RRC students created an awareness regarding the spreading of AIDS disease among the public with awareness quotes on the flux. The Rally was funded by the Periyar University, Salem. The public gave very good response and they also requested to conduct more rally on social issues.

The Farewell function was held on 04.04.2018 in our college on the title “Santhithom Santhipom” in Arivanandha Arangam. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Institutions, presided over the function. Smt.N.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Institutions delivered her special address. In the special address, the students were advised to hold at least one degree for appearing for competitive examinations. Madam also said that Education will give self-confidence, Strength and Straight forwardness in behaviour. Our Chairman Sir, in his speech motivated the students to read some valuable books, respect all the elders and also said that every student should continue higher education for their bright and colourful future. Dr. R. Rajeswari, Principal, Heads of various departments, faculty members and the final year students participated in this function. The function included a feedback session and the students gave positive thoughts & shared their pleasant memories.

The Department of Computer Science organized a one day Under Graduate Seminar on the topic "Basic Concepts of OOPs in C++" on 10.4.18 in Keerthi Hall. Mrs.K.Vimala, HoD, Department of Computer Science released a seminar volume on OOPs concepts and Dr.S.Kavitha, HoD, Department of Commerce received the same. The paper presentation session started at 11.25 a.m. and 25 participants presented their papers effectively. The students explained the individual concepts of OOPs namely Class, Objects, Data Abstraction, Encapsulation, Inheritance, Polymorphism, Dynamic Binding and Message Passing. Mrs.K.Vimala, HoD appreciated the students for their effort and effective presentation.
